Born and raised in Texas, Kenny cut his musical teeth on 70’s Acoustic Rock, playing bass in a family band called “True Texas” during the mid 80’s.
After moving to Orlando, Florida, he was invited to audition for the “Kim Hightower Band.” Running through some music together, their musical connection was almost immediate, and began performing around central Florida for the next four years. In 2012, Kenny left the band, moved to south Florida, and put together his Americana band “Altered Roots”.
In 2019, Kenny ventured out to concentrate more on his solo/duo act, “Wood & Steel.” As fate would have it, coming full circle, Kenny moved back to Texas in 2021, and began booking solo/duo shows again as “Wood & Steel.” In March of 2021, he began the search for additional musicians who shared his love for “Outlaw Country-Rock and Roots.” “Wood & Steel” has hit the road running booking shows around Houston and Southeast Texas.

Clayton Chaney (aka “DJ Chaney”) was born and raised in the small town of Bellville, TX, where he excelled as a top-notch athlete and Honor Roll student. In 2008, his athleticism and intelligence earned him a scholarship at Rice University, located in the center of Houston, TX. While studying civil engineering, DJ Chaney discovered his passion for music and production. He began to test his skills by DJing at campus parties and local clubs. Clayton found that he had a knack for DJing. His performance made such an impact on the student body that he quickly became the go-to guy, drawing crowds of hundreds of students to campus parties.
Post graduation, he qualified to train for the USA Olympic Trials. In spite of his rigorous workout schedule, Chaney went on to produce two “Mashup” albums – Slanty Shanty and Man Bunz. Since those albums, DJ Chaney has shifted his focus to producing remixes and original content. Chaney’s talent and hard work has not gone unnoticed, landing him major appearances at the Atlanta Falcons VIP pre-show (Superbowl LI) and NCAA Men’s Final Four 2016, as well as the 2019 CMA Awards After Party and 2019 WNBA All Star Game Fan Zone.
If he’s not at his studio working a 12 hour day on new music, DJ Chaney is with his team of mavericks working on brand development, social media strategies and trend research. Unrelenting to his craft, DJ Chaney is ultimately pursuing one goal: to get as many people jumping as possible.
